IT ALL BEGAN AT
IN 2011
The company’s co-founders, brothers Gunārs and Artūrs Vīganti, are advocates of a healthy lifestyle, and both enjoy eating delicious yet healthy meals. Since the brothers also share a “green” mindset, they were both equally convinced that their diet should consist of organically grown and produced food. At that time, organic beef—which both brothers enjoyed so much—was not readily available on the market, so they decided to start raising organic beef cattle themselves.
"When there is a shortage of good organic beef in stores and it sells out quickly at farmers' markets, it’s time to start farming on our own—raising purebred cattle and offering buyers high-quality, antibiotic-free meat that we produce ourselves."
2011. In [year], the Vīganti brothers began raising beef cattle using organic methods in Ērgļi Municipality. At the same time, they cultivated the farmland they had inherited, making the landscape around their family home even more well-kept and picturesque.
As time went on, Gunārs and Artūrs became increasingly convinced of how difficult it was to purchase truly high-quality meat from local producers—meat whose quality they could be sure of. The brothers regularly visited farmers’ markets, but even there they often noticed that the meat wasn’t cut properly and saw mostly frozen products. This became a turning point—they decided to take matters into their own hands and opened their own store, becoming an organic family farm
2016. In [year], the brothers established a meat-processing facility where they offered their farm’s customers organically raised beef that met their high-quality standards.
Now “NEGANTIgardi” cuts all its meat in-house, where every piece is carefully prepared by hand. Although their closest family members in Vidzeme have long appreciated the quality of organic meat, Gunārs and Artūrs realized that friends and relatives elsewhere in Latvia are still forced to buy lower-quality products that are not organically raised
That is why, in 2019, the brothers launched the online store “Negantigardi.lv” so that high-quality, hand-processed organic meat from their own livestock to people across the country.
